Protego beats Angry Brods, sets up championship showdown with DOJ Barkada

Jacob Ang 2018 erupted for 55 points to carry Protego to a 106-103 victory over the Angry Brods on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

The pivotal victory pushed Protego to a finals showdown with DOJ Barkada, which has been waiting for its championship rival since sweeping TNE in the other semifinal match-up.

Angry Brods came out firing early, building a massive 23-point cushion, 33-10, in the first quarter behind a scorching start from Ali Shah 2023, who later finished the game with 53 points.

Protego refused to fold, steadily chipping away at the lead before Ang took over completely in the final frames.

Dan Salvador 2007 provided the essential boost for Protego, contributing 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting.

Protego’s dominance on the glass proved decisive, as they out-rebounded Angry Brods, 57-47, providing the extra possessions needed to complete the comeback.

The Angry Brods received a strong boost from Pep Sandejas, who tallied 22 points, but the team was hampered by foul trouble.

Three players finished with four or more fouls, ultimately sending Protego to the line 38 times compared to their own 28 attempts.

In the second game of the doubleheader, an All-Star game of the top players commenced. Team Dark dismantled Team Light with a convincing 103-78 victory.

Team Dark utilized a balanced offensive clinic, led by KV Villanueva’s 2012 20-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Team Light struggled to find its rhythm from deep, failing to convert a single three-pointer (0-of-16) for the entire match.

Uno Alpajora 2025 was the lone bright spot in the loss, putting up a valiant 24 points and 11 rebounds.
