Leads 69ers, TNE dominate foes; DOJ Barkada win 3 straight

DOJ Barkada scored its third win in as many games to pace the Hoopsilonians 2025 basketball tournament after dismantling Northcom, 68-56, at the Epsilon Chi Center on September 7.
Esdee Dulay 2012 and his 32 points were too much for the Northcom side, which had 27 turnovers and dropped its second game, leaving it with a 1-1 win-loss record.
Javi Palana 2016 led Northcom with 15 points and 13 rebounds in the losing effort.
Black Team 54, Machismo 86ers 44
In the second game, Black Team gave the Machismo 86ers their third straight loss, 54-44.
Kiko Baltazar 2017 was the standout player, leading the charge with 23 points. Jona So 2010 was also crucial to the team’s success, contributing 17 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 4 blocks.
Despite Nicolai Ong 2023's 15 points and Benj Bolivar’s 2008's 13 points, the 86ers couldn’t close the gap.
Leads 69ers 84, Protego 40
In the third game, the Leads 69ers overwhelmed Protego, 84-40, giving the latter its first defeat in the tournament.
Darrell Ciruela 2014 and Phillip Alpajora 2014 both impressed with 16 points each, while Ciruela added a massive 22 rebounds to his tally for Leads.
Protego's Jong Punzalan 2006 was the top scorer for Protego with 16 points and 15 rebounds, but the 69ers’ all-around performance proved way too much to overcome.
TNE 81, Angry Brods 61
To cap the weekend’s games, TNE beat Angry Brods, 81-61, to score its first win in the tournament.
Gino Estebanlar 2018 led the scoring with 20 points while Gavin Tiongco 2025 and Mikey Balilia 2010 provided strong support with 14 points and 10 points, respectively.
For the Angry Brods, Pep Sendejas ‘97 posted 16 points, and Aris Celicious 2022 added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
