Undersecretary 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗼 "𝗡𝗼𝗻𝗶" 𝗗𝗖. 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼 ’𝟵𝟭 was recently honored with the 2024 Asia Heroes Awards for leadership in Innovation and Sustainability.

The Asia Heroes Awards recognize distinguished professionals across Asia who have made significant contributions to their fields, demonstrating exemplary service and inspiring leadership.

Before serving as the General Manager of the 105-year-old National Development Company (NDC), the government's investment arm, Usec. Anton (as he is better known) founded two international finance firms in the country, Thomson Ratings Philippines (now Fitch Ratings) and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), where he was country president from 2015 to 2017.

At NDC, he is credited with founding the Philippine Innovation Hub, which is opening offices in Hongkong and Singapore in order to funnel investments into Philippine startups. As a private practitioner, he co-founded the Global AI Council Philippines. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 1992. In 2022, he completed the Executive Program in Digital Leadership at Singapore Management University.
